Having visibility of all Projects, Programmes and Initiatives in a central place massively increases the chances of being successful.
The SAP Portfolio Management function comprises both Technology and Oversight of business initiatives. It endeavours to break each element down into phases that clearly demonstrate synergies and contention.
The SAP Centre of Expertise needs to link in with other concurrent projects and programmes to meet strategic and tactical objectives.
Key Outputs
- Centralised visibility of all SAP initiatives.
- Alignment to Group, Group Technology, SAP CoE and SAP strategic objectives and roadmaps.
- Alignment to SAP CoE standards and governance.
- Support prioritisation of SAP initiatives.
- Proactively monitor and respond to SAP skills demand.
- Support transition of Requirements capability to Scaled Agile Framework.
- Explore opportunities for cost savings.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to SAP portfolio operational and service plans in alignment with Group Technology (GT) architectural strategy, GT IT strategy and business goals, and provide subject matter expertise to contribute to the SAP CoE strategy.
- Proactively support risk management within the SAP portfolio by ensuring policies, processes and procedures are aligned to established governance principles.
- Support Head: SAP CoE in managing partnerships with vendors and service suppliers and effectively managing costs.
- Ensure solutions to new and existing business requirements (projects) are aligned to best-fit relevant to Group and aligned to agreed roadmaps.
- Ensure that portfolio and management reporting is produced in a timely manner and aligned to the agreed communications plan for all relevant stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with SAP CoE, GT and business stakeholders, to define and implement a continuous improvement plans and support Head: SAP CoE to drive collaboration.
- Forecast demand and plan proactively.
- Ensure tighter coordination of strategy, capacity and customer needs.
- Ensure principles of requirements management are met.
- Ensure alignment of SAP initiatives and Group’s SAP licencing position.
- Ensure alignment between SAP initiatives and landscape
- Support efforts to meet SAP CoE Service Level Agreements.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years experience in an IT environment.
- Minimum 8 years experience in SAP.
Knowledge
- SAP development concepts, guidelines and SAP architecture.
- Knowledge and application of relevant IT best practices
- Complex IT environments (technical, security, business)
- IT Service Management principles and frameworks (ITIL 4)
- Project & Programme management including methods and tools.
- Knowledge of insurance industry.
- Compliance and IT governance frameworks.
